Wolfgang Brunner studied music education and musicology, furthermore piano with Hans Leygraf, subsequently cembalo as well as historical performance practice with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Since 1985 he teaches inter alia historical keyboard instruments, piano, improvisation at the university Mozarteum in Salzburg. Furthermore he also taught fortepiano at the music academies Karlsruhe and Trossingen, currently at Linz.
After winning international prizes he regulary is invited to important European festivals. In 1991 he founded the “Salzburger Hofmusik” on authentic instruments. Among his ca 70 CD´s and a lot of broadcastings are numerous first sound recordings.
Wolfgang Brunner is often invited to masterclasses as well as member of juries for fortepiano and historical informed performance practice.
