ClaviCologne International Piano Festival Opens with Inspiring First Day in Pescara

The prestigious ClaviCologne International Piano Festival officially kicked off its 11th edition on Monday 4th August at the "Luisa D'Annunzio" Conservatory of Music in Pescara, ushering in a week-long celebration of piano mastery that will run until August 8th.

Launched with the goal of creating a global hub for piano education and performance, ClaviCologne has grown into one of the foremost international events of its kind, attracting participants and professors from all over the world. The 2025 edition brings together a dazzling roster of renowned pedagogues and concert pianists, including Michel Beroff (France), Milana Chernyavska (Germany/Ukraine), Epifanio Comis (Italy), Severin von Eckardstein (Germany), Pietro De Maria (Italy), Stanislav Ioudenitch (USA), Hisako Kawamura (Japan), Giuliano Mazzoccante (Italy), Marios Papadopoulos (UK), and Zhe Tang (China).

Monday’s opening day saw the Conservatory brimming with musical energy as students began their individual masterclasses, working intensively with the professors in private and semi-public settings. Sessions focused on repertoire ranging from Classical sonatas to Romantic and contemporary works, with the professors offering technical guidance, stylistic insight, and personal interpretations developed over decades of international performance experience.

The day also provided a chance for young artists to meet and connect with peers from around the world, building a sense of camaraderie and cultural exchange that defines the ClaviCologne experience. With such a rich blend of talent and mentorship in the heart of Italy’s Abruzzo region, the festival promises to be an unforgettable week for all involved!
