Michel Béroff to Join ClaviCologne 2026 as Professor
Legendary French pianist Michel Béroff will be among the distinguished professors at the ClaviCologne International Music Festival 2026, bringing his unparalleled experience and artistic insight to the next generation of pianists.
A graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, Béroff rose to international prominence after winning First Prize at the Olivier Messiaen International Piano Competition in 1967, and has since been regarded as one of the foremost interpreters of Messiaen’s music. Over the course of his remarkable career, he has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras under legendary conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Leonard Bernstein, and Seiji Ozawa.
An esteemed chamber musician, Béroff has collaborated with artists including Martha Argerich and Barbara Hendricks, while also maintaining an active career as a conductor and recording artist, with more than 50 albums to his name.
Professor Emeritus at the Paris Conservatoire, where he taught for 25 years, Béroff continues to give masterclasses worldwide and has served on the juries of the most prestigious international piano competitions.
