The 6th Annual Stanislav & Friends concert, an annual celebration of classical music, will take place on Saturday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Mo. The event will feature an exceptional lineup of faculty, students, alumni, and friends of the Park University International Center for Music (ICM). This year’s theme, Echoes of Spain, promises an immersive evening filled with passionate performances and the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Spanish music.

The concert will explore the essence of Spain through a diverse selection of works from various composers and eras. Each piece emphasizes the profound influence of Spanish musical traditions, creating a dynamic program that celebrates Spain's rich cultural heritage.

Ioudenitch, who won the gold medal at the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2001, will kick off the evening with a powerful rendition of Franz Liszt's Spanish Rhapsody. To close the concert, he will join forces with several distinguished pianists to perform Maurice Ravel's Rapsodie Espagnole for Two Pianos. Ioudenitch will handle one piano across all four movements, while four other talented pianists will rotate on the second piano, each playing one movement.

Ioudenitch will be joined by two of his former students—Behzod Abduraimov, Park ICM artist-in-residence and winner of the 2009 London International Piano Competition, and Ilya Shmukler, a current Park ICM graduate student and winner of the 2024 Concours Géza Anda Piano Competition. Renowned Spanish pianist Luis Fernando Pérez and Ioudenitch’s wife, Tatiana Ioudenitch, also a prominent pianist and founder of the Young Artists Music Academy in Westwood Hills, Kan., will round out the ensemble.
